Resiliency & Sustainability in the Age of SARS-CoV-2.
3 PDH Credits Provided
Abstract:
The Coronavirus Pandemic has become the most important issue in decades, and possibly our lifetime.
With so much information available on the internet and TV screens across the globe, how do building design professionals determine what constitutes reason when designing and safeguarding facilities for both resilience against viruses while still foreseeing a future where both sustainability & resilience will be the priorities of all facilities.
This will be an introduction to the subjects of Resiliency & Sustainability in NYC with regards to the SARS-CoV-2 Pandemic & Local Law 97.
NOTE: The subjects and questions the audience have are most important to us. Upon signing up, you will be asked to provide the 1-3 questions you would like answered. The panel & speakers will answer all questions via email and include as many as possible in their presentations. A 10-minute Question/Answer period will follow each 30 Minute presentation with a 5-minute break.

Discuss Local Law 97 from the MEP Design Professional’s perspective. How does LL97 effect current design & commissioning. What should buildings be doing now to prepare for LL97. How does this change with the advent of the SARS-CoV-2 Pandemic?
- SARS-CoV-2: Where are we know & how to PREPARE for the present & future.
The recent SARS-CoV-2 pandemic has again pushed the REAL concern regarding infectious diseases into the forefront of the government, private sector, and public’s mind. Media, both new and old are rife with frightening stories that are causing events to be cancelled months in advance. Facilities that have not been designed with resilience in mind are potentially part of the problem. Design professionals need guidelines and strategies to prepare facilities for a major infectious disease event, how to operate through the event, and then to sustain operations afterwards ensuring the safety of its occupants.
