Description: This presentation covers the past, present, and future of cybersecurity in building management systems. We will begin by covering the threat and impact of cybersecurity attacks, and our past and current response structure. We will then move on to understanding BACnet SC, ASHRAE's response to industry cybersecurity concerns and the biggest update to BACnet since BACnet/IP. Finally, we will finish by explaining Managed BACnet: an industry-wide, interoperable, and resilient framework to manage BAS systems and devices securely for the future.

Bio’s:
Jim Lee, Chief Executive Officer, Cimetrics
Jim is the founder of Cimetrics and has acted as its CEO since its formation. As a leader in the Internet of Things and building automation community for over 30 years, he has been a pioneer in analytics and interoperable communications. He served as former President of the BACnet Manufacturers Association (now BACnet International), which is the leading open systems networking consortium in the building automation industry. Jim has a B.A. in Physics from Cornell University.
Jim Butler, Chief Technology Officer, Cimetrics
Jim is CTO of Cimetrics Inc. with overall responsibility for the direction of the company’s products business. Jim is a long-time contributor to the development of the BACnet standard, and he is currently the convener of the BACnet committee’s IT-WG which developed BACnet/SC. Jim was also the founding manager of the BACnet Testing Laboratories.
