In this comprehensive presentation, we will delve into the essential aspects of commissioning, focusing specifically on the requirements set forth by the latest New York City Energy Conservation Code, and address the 5 W's:

  • Who needs to commission their buildings in NYC?
  • What is commissioning and why is it necessary?
  • Where does commissioning fit into the construction process?
  • When is commissioning required, and what are the deadlines?
  • Why is commissioning important for energy efficiency and building performance?

Additionally, we will cover the "how" by providing detailed insights from someone who has performed the commissioning process on hundreds of NYC projects over the last 20 years.
