The presentation will cover various topics related to decarbonization efforts in the life sciences industry, including relevant engineering principles, case studies, and challenges associated with decarbonization initiatives.

Jon Lemmond, Senior Director of Sustainable Operations, is charged with leading Sustainable Operations teams serving JLL’s Life Science clients and will be hosting this webinar.

Travis Smith, Principal of Smith Engineering, will review concepts such as COP (Coefficient of Performance), heat sources, heat pumps vs. heat recovery, and application challenges for different heat sources. Furthermore, Travis will present examples of specific projects in the life sciences industry where heat pumps and sustainable practices are being implemented to achieve decarbonization goals.

Jim Fisher, Engineering Director, will review Amgen’s sustainability program, ES2027, and its goals for achieving carbon neutrality, reducing water consumption, and managing waste disposal. Jim will provide detail on how sustainability and decarbonization practices are integrated into capital investments and project delivery processes at Amgen.
