Abstract:
Great progress is being made. Even COP28 resulted in a watershed energy transition statement. With New York State’s Community Protection Act (CLCPA) ready for completion, the Federal 2022 Inflation Reduction Act, NYC Local Law 97 implemented January 1 2024, and the NYS 2024 Climate Impacts Assessment Report - it appears decarbonization, energy reduction, and the drawdown of GHG emissions at scale are well underway to meet the 2030 and 2050 targets. Or are they?
