Presentation and discussion with the Design Engineer and Owner of the gut renovation of the Service Building, located at the NY-Presbyterian Columbia University Irving Medical Center campus.
Project consisted of a complete gut renovation of an existing building of hospital support and office space, converting multiple floors to inpatient beds and a new central sterile processing department. Major decarbonization initiatives include specification of all HVAC system for low temperature hot water, energy recovery measures, and envelope improvements, among others. Also incorporated into the design were connections to a future water source heat pump plant to be built in an adjacent new construction building.
